Chanoma cafe with - Claudia chanoAU

Everyone has room for dessert after dinner right? Green tea is one of all-time favourite! When I first found out about this green tea café I fell in love with it in an instant. If you’re a green tea lover like me, I recommend you to try this place! Chanoma Café is known as the ‘The Japanese Matcha Maker’. Chanoma Café serves Japanese tea style, a variety of hold/cold matcha green tea infused beverages, traditional Japanese desserts and savoury hot dogs!

My all night favourite after dinner dessert would be the Matcha float or the Matcha float. Talking about this is making me crave for Chanoma myself! Anywho let’s get straight into this. Matcha float which consist of Iced matcha latte with matcha soft serve on the top.  The soft serve tastes really creamy (literally melts in your mouth). The Iced matcha latte is so refreshing! Goes very well with the matcha soft serve. My second favourite is the matcha float which consists of the same thing as the matcha float but something special is added to the matcha float! It is Dango, Dango is a Japanese dumpling made from Mochiko (rice flour). The texture is chewy and soft, goes well with the matcha latte! J

Here is the address Shop 11 501 Geogre Street Sydney

Grilling and Chilling with Felix - Grill'd burgers

One of the best feelings in life is to feel satisfied with your fulfilling yet affordable meal.
Grill'd burgers is a great way achieve that ! They have a variety of different types of burgers ranging from vegetarian to meat lovers, white bread to whole meal bread and even the choice of having fries or salad on the side.

My first experience eating at Grill'd burgers was superb ( not sure if it was because i was extremely hungry! jokes) I ordered the spicy chicken burger  with jalapeños. The chicken was grilled and marinated perfectly and the spiciness complimented the salad.
The serving size was relatively large and considering I am a big eater I was already full three quarters of the way! I would definitely recommend this place to those who love a big fat juicy meal !

Quay to my heart with Shirley

Quay restaurant located in Sydney ( Circular Quay) is one of the most prestigious restaurants in the world. One of their most popular dishes is of course the famous snow egg.

I was extremely excited to try the snow egg myself considering this dessert was made famous on Masterchef Australia.
The "egg" sits on white nectarine granita with puree and custard. Inside the snow egg, it has a yolk of white nectarine ice cream with meringue drizzled with icing sugar on top. It tasted absolutely amazing as the texture and creaminess of the ice-cream was superb. The soft meringue melts in your mouth and the granita is icy and refreshing.

Chicken Institute - Leon

Chicken Institute is a twist of fusion Korean restaurant; popular dishes consist their fried chicken menu. Fried chicken is a perfect combination with a few drinks! For the first time round i tried  ''Damn good sticky chicken'' it has a twist of sweet and spicy, crushed peanut and shallots. If you're not a chilli person i recommend you having a cup of water, because this damn good chicken is damn chilli. Along with some chook, i tried ''Kimchi poutine'' fries with cheese, kimchi, chilli, shallot and a hint of gavy to spice the taste up. I highly recommend trying these two dishes, under $30 not too heavy on the wallet.

Surprisingly it seems like it's not much food but it filled my belly up! I have yet to try other dishes in the menu. The surroundings offers a relaxing chilled environment, perfect for quiet night out! The address for Chicken Institute is 61 Fitzroy St, Surry Hills NSW 2010.
Top photo is the Damn sticky chicken and the second photo is the Kimchi poutine.

Malaysian food adventures with Felix

Laksa is a spice-laden noodle dish that is popular in Malaysia and Singapore; it’s a noodle dish that is quickly gaining popularity outside of Southeast Asia because of the scrumptious taste. To most people, especially the western media, laksa means curry laksa, a noodle dish in coconut milk and curry soup base. The truth is, there are many different types of laksa but the two dominant ones are curry laksa (coconut milk based) and asam laksa (tamarind based). Laksa is an iconic street food served by street vendors (hawkers) throughout Malaysia, a dish that I grew up eating ^_^

Party in my tummy with Shirley - Macaroons

As a person who enjoys eating sweets majority of the time, I would definitely give the worlds infamous Adriano Zumbo's Macaroons a big thumbs up.
Adriano Zumbo is located in Pyrmont, Sydney and is open everyday of the week. They have a variety of different flavoured macaroons to choose from at a price of $2.80 each!
Each macaroon has a crisp shell, however, the fillings range from stick and gooey to cream and fluffy.

Despite the amazing presentation and packing of the product, the taste is definitely worth the try. My favourite flavours are salted caramel and salted popcorn ! ( which are the top 2 )

Kings Hot Bread Sydney - Claudia

Located in the South of Sydney 240 Forest Rd, Hurstville NSW 2220 I would say this is by far the best bakery that caters for Vietnamese pork rolls at its finest. Not only do they serve its standard regular pork roll and chicken roll hat is available at almost every bakery; Kings Hot Breads offers a range of different bread rolls. From the top of my head they offer Dim rolls, BBQ chicken roll and Nhem roll (grilled pork). If you have never tried a pork roll before, I recommend trying the original pork roll! Although through the recent years the prices have went up it is now $5 I still think it is worth the price as it keeps the stomach full for a few hours! So it is perfect for breakfast and lunch.
A regular pork roll consist of layers of pork, full flavored pate, creamy mayo, and cucumber, a twist of pickled carrots, shallot, coriander and chilli.

Sweet Adventures with Shirley - Watermelon Cake

Everyone has heard of the typical chocolate, vanilla and cheese cakes but do you ever hear people mention watermelon cakes ?!

The name of this cake would already leave heads spinning! This creative recipe of watermelon with strawberries, roses and petals sprinkled on the top has definitely became a huge sensation which is why I was desperate to try it out.

I have to say that I have not seen watermelon take centre-stage of any cake prior to this one. I was extremely excited since everyone has been talking about this cake so I went to see if the flavours work well for myself.

I was quite amazed of the texture and flavour. The hints of floral was seamless and the sweetness of the watermelon and strawberry was perfect. The sponge was fluffy and chewy with a light perfume of rose and hints of almond running though the whole cake. Besides the fact that this cake was compatible with my tastebuds, the presentation of this cake was beautiful !

I would rate this cake 5 stars as it was divine! I would highly recommend this extraordinary cake at Black star pasty in Newtown !

Enjoy !!

Nothing can go wrong with dumplings! - Felix

Dumplings are the epitome of what Chinese food has to offer. Din Tai Fung has a signature point of difference - every dumpling pastry is delicately hand made to measure between precisely 4.8 and 5.2 grams at conception, before being filled to weigh between 20.8 and 21.2 grams. All this and the promise that the dumplings are made fresh in front of your eyes, steamed in exactly three minutes and on your table in seconds. Such scientific precision and quality control is what makes Din Tai Fung stand out from the rest. With the quality offered, the pricing are moderately high so it's definitely not a savy way to eat.

Yummy Adventures with Leon- Yummy's Seafood Restaurant

Having a yummy appetite for some seafood? One place everyone should go to is Yummy Seafood Restaurant located at 503-505 King Georges Rd, Beverly Hills. With a selection of crab, lobsters, oysters and alot more Yummy Seafood Restaurant is a must!

Mr Crackles with Claudia the food explorer (Not literally!)

Hungry for a snack after a night out on Friday/Saturdays? Usually a kebab or a snack pack is the answer or even Maccas run. However, Mr Crackles located in 155 Oxford Street; Darlinghurst may be another alternative for you! Or if crispy, succulent and dripping taste of goodness pork belly is for you, and then you must drop by Mr Crackles!
My boyfriend tried the 'Sweet Pork'' with braised pork belly, served with cabbage salad, topped with mayo on a bed of soft bread. ($13) the pork belly was juicy didn't have a dry texture, the amount of pork was a decent amount not too less and not too much!

I tried the ‘Sticky BBQ Pork’ with smokey bbq, ranch salad, topped with onion rings on a soft bun. ($13.50) The BBQ pork tastes absolutely amazing, mouth-watering with a soft texture (no hard bits!) I recommend trying this for first time visitors to Mr Crackles J they have so much variety to choose from, I have yet to try other goodies along with my next visit!

Aventure Time with Shirley - Holy Basil Fried Ice Cream

Holy Basil is a Thai/ Laos restaurant located in Canely Heights and Sydney CBD. The restaurant has a variety of delicious meals and drinks, however, if you want mouth watering desserts with a mixture of two different asian cultures combined together then you should definitely give Holy Basil a hit!

Whether you are lactose in tolerant or dislikes sweets, nobody can ever reject the famous holy basil fried ice cream ! There is no other place in Sydney that makes fried ice cream in the style of Holy Basil. With one bite you cannot resist the creamy vanilla ice cream wrapped around crispy pastry that will instantly dissolve in your mouth along with the sweet coconut and caramel sauce.

I highly recommend this dessert/ restaurant as they have outstanding ice cream along with their service !

You can never have enough ice cream !!

Food adventures with Claudia - Ichi Ban Boshi

Ramen (ラーメン) is a noodle soup dish that was originally imported from China and has become one of the most popular dishes in Japan in recent decades. I am a big fan of Ramen and could eat it almost every day. This is one of my favourite Japanese Ramen places in Sydney CBD; the main attraction at Ichi ban is their noodles. My favorite ramen would have to be the Kaarage Ramen! Which consist of deep fried chicken, soy flavored soup noodle base and thick buck wheat noodles and topped with butter corn. I would recommend readers to try out Ichi Ban Boshi located at Galleries CBD if you’re a ramen fan just like me! :)
